Variety Early Learning Center provides services to parents of children 6 weeks to 12 years of age.  The mission of  Variety Early Learning Center is to provide quality child care and family services to those families in greatest need while parents are employed in the workforce, job training, or in crisis recovery.   Variety Early Learning Center fosters the education and socialization of children, in coordination with their parents.  The program builds on the strengths and personal interests of each child utilizing best practices in early childhood education.

Closed Federal Holiday’s & one week during Christmas

 

Programs

Early Childhood Development Program

  • Infant, Toddler and Pre-K Classes
  • Optimum teacher/student ratios
  • Age appropriate curriculum Reading, writing, math, science, and computer readiness
  • Structured and creative activities
  • Group and individual guidance
  • Self-help skills (toy cleanup, potty training and handwashing)

Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) Reimbursement from CACFP enables the Center to serve nutritious breakfast, lunch and snack to enrolled children

TUITION ASSISTANCE Each year Variety Early Learning Center applies for grants to assist our parents with the costs of tuition; this allows parents to be gainfully employed, while the children are receiving quality education. These are limited, area specific, and income based. Parents must be working and provide income and address verification and a current photo ID. Tuition assistance does not cover the total cost of the weekly fee and is for a limited amount of time. Assistance is available as funding permits.

Child Care Assistance The Las Vegas Urban League provides a temporary helping hand to families in crisis to provide child care and education for children while their parents seek employment, job training or crisis recovery.

Substance Abuse Prevention Substance Abuse Prevention And Treatment Agency (SAPTA) funds prevention program for preschoolers.*

Staff Development Training All staff members meet the State of Nevada licensing requirements in the field of Early Childhood Education.

Children’s progress and achievements are monitored and measured. High Scope assessments are used to observe children and make referrals when special needs or risks are identified.
